Emerging HRM Trends

It is transforming human resource management into a different shape, with the rapidly fluctuating technological environments, agitating levels of expectations among employees and their workforce, and agility in management needing to intensify. Changing trends would influence these dimensions in an organization: talent management, enablement of productivity, and fostering an inclusive culture. It goes without saying that the trend has shifted towards integration with technology, along with peeping into employee wellness and mental health, and covering diversity.

One such hugely potential trend is the use of AI in the automation of HR processes. AI makes such mundane tasks as recruitment, performance tracking, and employee feedback collection easier to handle. For instance, Unilever has used AI in their recruitment process, which reduced interview times by 75% while increasing diversity due to more objective data analyses of candidates (Edens, 2024). This not only saves time but also frees up the HR teams to concentrate on strategic decision-making.

  3. Other emerging trends that could be underlined are the shifts in hiring towards competency-based systems. Most companies, in recent times-like IBM and Google-have shifted from merely seeking a traditional degree to emphasizing the core competency of the candidates. This opens opportunities for more diversified talent. Also, tailored learning and development tools have become instrumental in upskilling employees for continuous learning within organizations.
